What is Kshar Karma?

Kshara means caustic substance from the ashes of Apamarga (Achyranthes Aspera). These Kshara’s are alkaline and also useful to treat various anorectal conditions. Kshar Karma is an effective as well as non-invasive Ayurveda treatment to treat piles, fissures, and fistula.

Kshara Karma is not only a milder non-invasive procedure but it also effectively treats the condition affecting the anal canal. In addition, there is less chance of reoccurrence. It’s a better option to treat all anorectal diseases through Ayurveda and its furthermore replacement of all severe surgical methods.

Importance of Balancing the Doshas for Kshar Karma Treatment

Ayurveda views health as a state of balance between the three Doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), which are the fundamental energies that govern physiological and psychological functions in the body. When these Doshas are out of balance, illness or discomfort arises. Kshar Karma works to restore balance by addressing the root cause of the imbalance:

  • Vata Dosha (air and space): Imbalances in Vata can cause dryness, pain, and tissue degeneration, making Kshar Karma effective for conditions like dry, painful wounds or fissures.
  • Pitta Dosha (fire and water): When Pitta is aggravated, it leads to inflammation, infection, and burning sensations, and Kshar Karma helps by reducing heat and promoting tissue healing.
  • Kapha Dosha (earth and water): Imbalances in Kapha can cause stagnation, excessive growth, and swelling. Kshar Karma helps by removing excess tissue and promoting the elimination of toxins.
